Thermo Poplar

overlapping profile – Robinia Planking. Biocoop company couldn't use anything else than local, without treatment sustainable timber. This leaded to the choice of thermally modified Poplar for the cladding. The boards of 22x140 mm got a nice grey color within few months, which do not require any additional care.

As Poplar due to the pour mechanical resistance is not suitable for decking, Robinia, which is a naturally sustainable timber, class 4 of durability, (outdoor layout in wet conditions possible) has been chosen naturally. Its high density allows an intensive passing on the finger jointed boards of 20x120mm.

This project designed by the architect Arcau (56) has been done by the joinery Daniel Thepault (56) .
